Lolita - Vladimir Nabokov The writing was amazingly beautiful. I could lose myself in Humbert's stream of consciousness as I said before so easily and that kept all the way through to the last page. Once I picked up this book, I couldn't put it down and read through it as a hot knife would slide through butter. To see the slow, steady yet inevitable unwinding of Humbert's mind was fascinating. Almost from the very beginning of meeting Lolita, the reader can almost discern that the obsession Humbert has for Lo will be his undoing, and that certainly happened. It was fascinating to hate the main character while reading about his life.I really enjoyed the book, and Nabokov certainly knows how to tell a story.
